Grant’s Girl Up club fundraises during flex by selling popcorn outside the auditorium for the showing of the film “Girl Rising.” The movie shares the stories of girls pursuing education in developing countries.

“It’s important that we use our voice to fight for those girls who don’t have a voice. People hate school (in America). We come to school and are like, ‘Oh, I really don’t want to be here,’ but there are kids all over the world that want to be at school and we kind of take that to our advantage … School is a privilege, and it is not a privilege that everyone gets.” – Nowina-Sapinski

About
Nora enjoys being social and hanging out with friends in her spare time as well as appreciating art in its many forms. Music, in particular, plays a big role in her everyday life. “When I’m bored I like to look on Metacritic.com and see what new music is going to be dropped soon or get on Songkick to check if any artists I like are going to have shows in Portland,” she says. Being on top of new releases in both film and music, is useful when she works on the magazine’s review section.
