Duper Steps Down

Grant boys basketball coach Paul “Duper” Kelly announced his resignation today, citing “personal and family reasons,” according to Athletic Director Diallo Lewis.

“Grant wishes coach Kelly and his family the best, and appreciate his two years of service to the school’s basketball program,” Lewis wrote in an email to Grant students and parents.

“We’ll begin the process of finding a new coach,” Lewis says, by “posting the job on various websites and locations and seeing what we get in terms of applicants.”

Lewis has no idea how many people will apply, but potential replacements are already reaching out. “We just announced it and already I’ve gotten three people who have expressed interest,” says Lewis. ♦
