What happens on Decision Day?

“Seniors write their name and where they’re going after high school on a piece of paper and then put it up on the map in the College and Career Center so that everyone can see where they’re going. On Decision Day, everyone wears a shirt or sweatshirt from the school they’re going to.”

Are you excited for life after high school?

“I’m really excited. It’s going to be sad to leave Portland, but I know we will all make new friends and have a great time after high school.”

What is it like to have your college decision final?

“All the motivation I had at the beginning of the semester completely vanished. Now that I’ve been accepted there’s no incentive for me to get straight A’s.”

Is displaying your college choice important to you?

“It’s not important for me to show where I’m going, but I love seeing where everybody else is going. It’s really entertaining … to see which of my classmates are leaving Oregon.”
