“This art is helping me work through body image problems with myself, and sometimes that is hard to say in words. Sometimes it’s hard to portray. It’s hard to explain. So I hope this kind of resonates with people who don’t really know how to always say it out loud.”

“My topic last year was the ways that people utilize animals in the world. And this year, I’m looking at hypermobility and chronic pain… I have always been very interested in gray spaces… I like people to be able to interpret things any which way, like last year with the animals. I wasn’t really pointing out animal cruelty or harm, so much as stating something that happens.”

“AP Art especially really gave me independence with my art style and creating. I feel like you are kind of limitless, and there’s a lot of things that you can play with and you’re always trying new things. So it really did open my eyes to… the possibilities of what my art can be for the future.”
