Haven Riffel, senior (Left)
“At first I enjoyed the social aspect of being able to meet a lot of people through (cross country), and then I started to actually get a passion for running and I learned to enjoy it. I’ve let the competitiveness take over at some points but our coaches always tell me that when someone on your team passes you, it’s ok because then you can do this like sorta leapfrog thing and it kind of forces everyone to push harder. I like the feeling that running gives me for the rest of the day afterwards. It just makes me feel a lot happier and a lot less stressed out.” // Philip Quinton, sophomore (Right) “We get to run to some pretty cool places, like really scenic areas. You really get to know each other cause you run together almost every day. I think it’s a very welcoming sport because once you start running, the age doesn’t matter. Sometimes it can be a little more competitive between everyone because although it’s a team sport, you still race against each other. We’re a unique team, we know when we have to work and get serious but we also realize that we need to be able to relax and have fun.”
