With the start of another school year at Grant, change is everywhere. New classes, new students and new traditions. Add new vice principals to the list.

This year, there will be three vice principals on the Grant administrative team.It marks the first time in recent memory that the school has had three vice principals at one time.

Diallo Lewis has left his job as a counselor and football coach to take one position. Liz Mahlum returns to Grant after spending the last two years as a counselor in her hometown of Scappoose. And KD Parman starts new at Grant after teaching at Roosevelt High School.

Lewis will handle discipline and working with students of color; Parman will focus on curriculum and testing; and Mahlum will work with mentors, community volunteers and special needs.

“The team is very collaborative,” says Principal Carol Campbell. “I am looking forward to working with all three of them and am excited about the upcoming school year.”
